Festipay festival payment solution debut in Marseille

Festipay, the contactless paperless system, a proven solution, will be implemented for the first time in June 27 in France on Prado beach in Marseille. Festipay is the Cardnet’s self-developed intelligent contactless payment service. As a result of a remarkable technological innovation, Sziget was the first festival in the world where cashless payment has been available since 2011. Sziget has chosen Festipay as the official payment service provider for its festivals. Cardnet, with its Festipay payment solution is the largest payment card provider for Hungary’s cashless events.

This solution serves every year the guests of Sziget festival with great success, alongside with other major gastronomic cultural and music events of Central Europe (Balaton Sound, VOLT, BmyLake, Gourmet etc). Payment card and mobile application “Festipay” allows festival goers not to use cash.

Cards can be loaded by cash and by credit card. Linked to a smartphone application, in case of loss, the card may be blocked in seconds and the outstanding credit will be returned. Payment for food, drink, products takes place by simply tapping the card against the terminals of different merchants, where the amount payable and the remaining balance will be displayed for ease of control.

At any time, the festival goers can get back the outstanding balance in cash by presenting the card at one of the charging points. By using festival card access to services is quicker, simpler and more practical and above all completely safe!
