Major change of Hungarian festivals: new, integrated payment system

This year’s grand launch in Hungary, the integrated payment system

Eastern Europe’s most sought-after cashless payment provider, Festipay has been testing its integrated payment system for a couple of years now. This summer they’ve got to the point where all the region’s major music festivals are using the Hungarian fintech company’s wristbands. These new wearables are equipped with a radio frequency identification chip to serve both entry and purchases. This innovative solution successfully debuted in 2017 at two international festivals. Neversea and Untold have introduced this new event management system with a success, and now in 2018 visitors of Hungarian festivals are experiencing it as well.

Embrace the benefits of the new wristband!

This year, Sziget Group (Gourmet, VOLT, Balaton Sound, Sziget) introduces integrated payment system. This enables the visitors to use only one RFID chipped wristband for all. These new wearables have all information about entry and include the payment function as well. The change also means that there will not be separate festival cards. The payment function will be integrated both in the daily and weekly passes.

The chip that is integrated into the wristband can be topped up with a mobile application. This can be done online and on the spot. We suggest doing it in advance, so that the balance shows on the chip immediately. (Time could be spent much better partying at a festival than standing in a que!) How the system works did not change at all. The chip has to be touched to the terminal after the order. In the event of the wristband being lost, payments can be disabled by using a mobile app.

What makes it more convenient, the wristband’s remaining balance can be easily refunded. The festival organisers can do it through the application at the end of the event, so the tired festival attendees don’t have to que up at  the customer service.
